In recent programming periods, the European Regulations have given increasing importance to the right of citizens to know how budgetary resources are invested and to raise awareness of Cohesion Policy objectives.
The main responsibility for ensuring proper information and communication lies with both the Special Management Service and the beneficiaries.
The Communication Strategy of Metropolitan Thessaloniki that is implemented within the Operational Program of the Region of Central Macedonia through the project “Promotion and publicity actions of the Urban Planning Authority for the Thessaloniki Sustainable Urban Development Strategy” follows the Operational Program of the Region of Central Macedonia’s communication approach to inform the potential beneficiaries about the financing opportunities and the general public about the benefits that stand out in the daily life of the citizen through the implementation of the co-financed actions in the Region of Central Macedonia.
The General Communication Objectives are:
A. The information of the potential beneficiaries about the financing opportunities of the Operational Program of Central Macedonia 2014-2020 in the context of the implementation of the Strategy of Metropolitan Thessaloniki.
B. The publication of the role and achievements of the Cohesion Policy and the Funds through the implementation of the Strategy of Metropolitan Thessaloniki, the OP / PKM 2014-2020 and the NSRF in general.
The Specific Communication Objectives are:
Information on the invitations and opportunities in the framework of the Strategy of Metropolitan Thessaloniki
Publication of the interventions and projects of the Strategy of Metropolitan Thessaloniki
Information on the significant benefits arising from the dynamic and substantial interventions promoted for a sustainable development of our city
Mobilization of stakeholders for the greatest possible diffusion, feedback and reproduction of the results of interventions and projects
Raising public awareness about the acceptance and promotion of projects and promoting their positive response
Attracting the public for active participation in promotion activities
